The Golf Association of Philadelphia was founded on the concept of friendly competitions between rival clubs. Over its 116 years, many of America’s, and the world’s, top amateurs had roots to the Philadelphia area. From Albert H. Smith, the first Golf Association of Philadlephia Amateur champion, to J. Wood Platt, William Hyndman, III, R. Jay Sigel and all the currrent champions, GAP’s history is long and unmatched.
