caddies at the 2008 career workshop.
In 2002 we introduced a mentoring program that is available for all Platt Caddie-Scholars. To date, over 130 men and women have volunteered to be mentors.
This program has been created as an avenue to expose our caddie-scholars to the realities of the job market. The resources available through golf can allow you to spend time with people in various industries and job markets. Hopefully, the program will give our caddies a better chance to experience the workplace environment and learn more about the variety of career opportunities that are available.
Good programs should be "win/win" situations. Caddie-scholars will be able to get a first-hand look at your specific industry and make a more informed decision about their future. Mentors and employers will have the opportunity to meet energetic young people who are expressing an interest in their business. The Scholarship should benefit through increased exposure to the business community, enhancing the prospect of improved corporate contributions.
In addition to the contact database, we have created a resume file for all caddie-scholars. This will give Platt associates the ability to research candidates for possible job or internship opportunities. If you are interested in making your resume available for possible review by a Platt Associate, please forward it to the Golf Office.
