The scholarship program is open to young persons who have caddied for at least one season at one or more Member Clubs of the Golf Association of Philadelphia. Additionally, they must be high school graduates with academic qualifications and in search of aid for college expenses. The selection of those caddies to receive scholarship funds is made on an annual basis by the Trustees.

The monetary awards currently range from $500 to $8,300 a year for undergraduates and $3,000 per year for graduate students. Students with no financial need (as determined by the filing of FAFSA and Award letter) will be considered Honorary Caddie-Scholars. It is the aim of the Scholarship to continue financial aid to all caddie-scholars for the full length of their college career as long as they meet the minimal responsibilities of the program. Awards are re-evaluated each year and based primarily on financial need. It is mandatory that recipients continue to caddie while receiving grants from the Scholarship. It is important to note that these are NOT golf scholarships and athletic ability is not taken into consideration.

2012-13 Returning Caddie-Scholar Requirements & Deadlines

He or she must continue to caddy at a course in the Golf Association of Philadephia each summer that he or she wishes to be considered for the scholarship. The minimum requirement for caddying is at least 50 percent of the days a loop is available at that club. This is verified with the caddie master at each club.

Successful completion of at least twelve credit hours per semester or twenty-four per year is required for continued eligibility.

Participation in a summer internship program that affects the ability to caddy requires the completion of an internship approval form. All forms will be re-viewed by the education committee.

January 25, 2012 - Fall Semester Grades and Information Forms due.

May 31, 2012- Student Aid Report (2012-13) and Spring Grades are due.

July 31, 2012 - Financial Aid Award Letter (2012-13) due.

These stipulations must be met for an award to be approved for the 2012-13 academic year.
