How has the Platt Caddie Scholarship helped you achieve your goals and what has it meant to you?
The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship has allowed me to attend Temple and worry less about the daunting prospect of the high costs of college. I aspire to continue my education by going to medical school and the extra help in funding that I receive now goes a long way because I am able to save more money for my future education. I also love the game of golf and look forward to it every spring, so to have members of the local golf clubs support me in my educational endeavors means a lot to me and I would like to thank everyone who supports this scholarship.
What would you say to a person you met at your club who was thinking about giving to the Platt Caddie Scholarship?
The scholarship makes a huge difference in our funding for education, especially when nearly every institution is raising the cost of tuition every year. Some extra money for books or housing allows us to focus on what’s really important; education, not the finances. Thank you for any support and I can assure you that every bit of support will always be appreciated.
What is your fondest caddying memory to date?
One of the players that I was caddying for was a guest who was having a bad day of golf. Nothing seemed to be going right for him despite the added pressure from the good play from the rest of the foursome. On the 17th hole, a par 3, one of his competitors put the ball 3 feet to the pin and was confident he’d win the hole. My player stepped up to the tee and hit a hole in one which lifted his spirits despite a poor performance for the majority of the day. |
