| Championships – In 2009, the GAP will conduct numerous events for all age categories, Amateur, Senior and Junior, and all skill levels, Gross and Net. The Golf Association of Philadelphia tournament schedule runs from April to October. In addition to administering local competitions, the GAP also conducts qualifying for six USGA championships.
GAP/USGA Handicaps – The GAP has provided handicaps to its Member Clubs through the GHIN System (Golf Handicap and Information Network) since 1964, a nationwide handicap service provided by the USGA. A player can go to any participating club to check a handicap and post his score. Players may also obtain GAP/USGA Handicap Index information from the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Web site. Clubs and members can gain access through their handicap computer to the National Course Rating and Slope database retrieval system.
- Erevisions – Get your GAP/GHIN Handicap in a click by signing up for the Association’s eRevision service. All Members are eligible and can easily take advantage of this benefit by getting on-line at www.gapgolf.org and logging into you’re My GAP Locker; clicking on the subscriptions tab and then checking yes for eRevision emails. eRevisions are delivered automatically to your email on the Revision day.
- On-line score posting – Individuals can maintain their handicap on-line from anywhere in the world through their My GAP Locker account.
My GAP Locker – A quick and easily accessible Web portal available at www.gapgolf.org to subscribe to the Golf Association of Philadelphia Magazine and/or Golf Digest; view your current GHIN Index or tournament registrations; post scores for handicap purposes; view your Golf Association of Philadelphia tournament scoring histories as well as recent Platt Caddie Scholarship contributions.
Philadelphia Golf Magazine – The Philadelphia Golf Magazine is the official publication of the Golf Association of Philadelphia. Philadelphia Golf Magazine provides extensive features and tournament coverage along with news and notes from the game of golf in the Philadelphia area. Published seven times a year in conjunction with the Association, Individual Members of the organization are eligible to receive a complimentary copy of the magazine by contacting the Golf Office.
- Golf Digest – All Golf Association of Philadelphia Magazine subscribers are also eligible to receive a complimentary Golf Digest subscription. We, at the Golf Association of Philadelphia, strive to help our members increase the enjoyment of the game while perfecting their skills. And because of the GAP's new partnership with Golf Digest Publications, you can do just that, compliments of the Association.
Seminars and Meetings –The Association offers various seminars, including those on the Rules of Golf; the Presidents Council, for issues affecting clubs; and the College Golf Seminar, for junior golfers interesting in the possible opportunities and responsibilities of college golf. All Member Clubs are also eligible to attend the Chairmen’s Meeting and the Pro-Pres., Golf & Green event, where speakers touch on pertinent issues, and Annual Meeting.
Tournament Pairing Program Software – The Tournament Pairing Program (TPP), used by the Golf Association of Philadelphia for all its events, is state-of-the art software that allows clubs to manage and run their tournaments smoothly and professionally. TPP allows for customization of course information, importing golfers from past tournaments, teams of up to six golfers for scoring purposes, flights, multi-course events and multiple formats including Round Robin, Match Play, Stableford, Chicago Quota Point System and more. A highly-advanced report editor is included for printing standard or custom reports. |
