Rob Bass of Sandy Run Country Club, a junior at Cabrini College, earned the individual title in the school's Spring Invitational April 2 at RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve. The Lafayette Hill, Pa. resident carded a 77 to prevail by a stroke. Bass returned a week later to grab medalist honors in Cabrini's College Spring Classic with a score of 73. He placed tied for fourth in the Ursinus Spring Invitational April 16 on Stonewall's North Course with a score of 76.
Jamie Bresnahan of Fox Hill Country Club, a senior at the University of Scranton, led the Royals to its third straight Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational title April 14-15 at Glenmaura National Golf Club. The Exeter, Pa. resident fired a 2-over-par 73 in the final round to place tied for sixth individually.
Matthew Burkhart of Meadia Heights Golf Club, a senior at Messiah College, is capping off a superb collegiate career. The Lancaster, Pa. resident won the Commonwealth Golf Championships for the third time April 27-28 at Hershey Country Club. He posted rounds of 72 and 76 en route to a four-stroke victory. It marked Burkhart's third time winning the event's individual title. As a result, he became the Commonwealth Conference Golfer of the Year for the third time. In his freshman year, Burkhart won Rookie of the Year honors. Furthermore, Burkhart posted a 78 in the Warner Triangular March 13 at Deer Run in Sebring, Fla. to pace the Falcons. Burkhart finished third individually in the Gettysburg Spring Invitational March 23 at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, Pa. to lead the Falcons to victory. He also boosted Messiah to a win in the Alvernia Spring Invitational April 2 at LedgeRock Golf Club. Burkhart posted a 4-over-par 76 to earn runner-up honors.
Daniel Costello of Spring Mill Country Club, a senior at Holy Family University, led the Tigers in the Bayside Resort Invitational March 16-17 at Bayside Resort Golf Course in Bethany, Del. The Richboro, Pa. resident posted a 171-total.
Christopher Crawford of Spring Mill Country Club, a freshman at Drexel University, won the Lafayette Invitational April 7-8 at Northampton Country Club. He posted a 1-under-par 143 in leading Drexel to a runner-up finish. Crawford also paced the team in the Wildcat Invitational April 1-2 at White Manor Country Club. The Bensalem, Pa. resident carded consecutive 75s before closing with a 69 to finish fifth place overall.
Brandon Dalinka of The Ridge at Back Brook, a sophomore at the University of North Carolina, placed tied for 17th in the ACC Men's Golf Championship April 26-28 at Old North State Golf Club in New London, N.C. The Newtown, Pa. resident posted rounds of 74, 71 and 70 for a 1-under-par 215-total.
Christopher Fuga of Phoenixville Country Club, a sophomore at Coker College, was named to the Conference Carolinas all-conference third team. The Phoenixville, Pa. resident led the Cobras in scoring this spring with a 75.1 average. Fuga's best performance of the year was a fifth-place finish at the Jay Jennison Memorial.
Daniel Furman of Commonwealth National Golf Club, a freshman at Franklin & Marshall, led the Diplomats in scoring at the Messiah Classic April 23 at Blue Ridge Country Club in Harrisburg, Pa. The Blue Bell, Pa. resident placed tied for seventh with a score of 3-over-par 75.
Joseph Gunerman of Jericho National Golf Club, a junior at Towson University, emerged as a top player for the Tigers this spring. The Yardley, Pa. resident won the individual title in the Navy Spring Invitational at Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Md. April 20-21. Gunerman overcame a six-shot deficit and carded a season-low 69 in the final round to prevail by a stroke. He carded an even-par 70 to place tied for 11th in a weather-shortened C&F Bank Intercollegiate March 24-26 at Kingsmill Resort's River Course in Williamsburg, Va. Gunerman also led Towson in scoring at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular March 16-17 at Mission Inn resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. He posted a three-round score of 228.
Alex Hicks of Wildwood Golf & Country Club, a sophomore at William & Mary College, earned runner-up honors in the CAA Conference Championship April 26-28 at The Reserve Club–St. James Plantation in Southport, N.C. He carded rounds of 71, 73 and 75 to file a 3-over-par 219-total. Hicks paced the Tribe in the snow-shortened C&F Bank Intercollegiate March 24-26 on the River Course at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, Va. The Cape May Court House, N.J. carded a 2-under-par 68 to finish tied for third individually. He also contributed to the team's victory in the Whiting Turner Towson Invitational March 31-April 2 at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Md. Hicks posted an 8-over 224 total to place tied for fourth.
Chas Hudacek of Glenmaura National Golf Club, a junior at the University of Scranton, led the Royals in scoring at the Moravian College Spring Invitational at Woodstone Country Club March 28. The Moosic, Pa. resident carded a 7-over-par 79 to finish tied for 12th individually.
Greg Jarmas of Overbrook Golf Club, a junior at Princeton University, won the individual title in the Ivy League Men's Golf Championship April 26-28 at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md. The Wynnewood, Pa. resident carded rounds of 71, 72 and 70 and became the Tigers first individual champion since 2005. He also led Princeton to its 24th Ivy League Championship title.
Michael Johnson of Talamore Country Club, a junior at La Salle University, became the first Explorer to be named Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week. The Ambler, Pa. resident received the honor April 24 for his performance in the Peacock Invitational, hosted by Saint Peter's at Neshanic Valley Country Club. Johnson carded an even-par 72 to earn medalist honors. He and teammate P.J. Acierno of Sandy Run Country Club, a freshman at La Salle, led the Explorers to a school record score of 285 in the Atlantic 10 Championships April 26-28 at Heron Bay Golf Club in Coral Springs, Fla. Both players finished tied for 19th place individually.
Michael Kania of Overbrook Golf Club, a senior at Villanova University, finished as co-runner-up in the Yale Spring Opener April 6 at Yale Golf Course in New Haven, Conn. The Haverford, Pa. resident carded rounds of 73 and 69.
Louis Kelly of Philmont Country Club, a sophomore at Adelphi University, led the Panthers to a runner-up finish in the UIS Springfield Classic March 19 at Pelican Bay Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Sewell, N.J. resident carded a 5-over-par 77 to earn co-medalist honors. Kelly finished tied for seventh place in Wilmington Spring Invite March 28-29 at Back Creek Golf Club.
Connor Lefever of Lancaster Country Club, a junior at West Chester University, attained a bit of notoriety during the St. James Plantation Invitational March 23-24 at The Founder's Club in Southport, N.C. He and teammate Michael Ashcraft of Woodstone Country Club each carded a hole-in-one on the same hole, on the same day, in the same tournament. Ashcraft aced the par 3, 169-yard No. 3 in the first round while Lefever followed suit about an hour later. Lefever, of Lancaster, Pa., finished as runner-up in the Fourth Annual Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational April 7-8 at Penn Oaks Golf Club. He carded rounds of 73 and 74, respectively.
Austin Mann of Spring Ford Country Club, a sophomore at West Chester University, finished fifth in the Challenge at Mystic Rock in Farmington, Pa. April 22. The Collegeville, Pa. resident posted a 150-total.
Brandon Matthews of Fox Hill Country Club, a freshman at Temple University, is surging at the collegiate level. He's earned Atlantic 10 Golf Rookie of the Week honors for a conference record eight times. He was the Owls' top finisher at the eight-team The Century Intercollegiate, helping the Owls place third as a team. He tied for sixth overall with a score of 151, marking the eighth time in 11 tournaments that he has been Temple's top finisher. His 72.6 stroke average leads the team. Matthews earned runner-up honors in the Atlantic 10 Championships April 26-28 at Heron Bay Golf Club in Coral Springs, Fla. The Dupont, Pa. resident posted rounds of 71, 68 and 70 for a 7-under-par 209-total. He and teammate Matthew Teesdale of Commonwealth National Golf Club, a freshman at Temple, shared the individual title in the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, N.J.
Tim Pici of Chester Valley Golf Club, a senior at Alvernia University, led the Crusaders to victory in the Muhlenberg Spring Invitational April 22 at Lehigh Country Club. The Malvern, Pa. resident carded a 6-over-par 76 to earn individual runner-up honors. A hole-in-one highlighted Pici's performance. He aced the par 3, 186-yard 13th hole with an 8-iron.
Nicholas Reach of Glenmaura National Golf Club, a sophomore at Georgia University, led the Bulldogs in scoring at three events this spring. The Moscow, Pa. resident placed tied for 16th with a 2-under-par 214 in the Puerto Rico Classic at Rio Mar Country Club's River Course Feb. 17-19. He finished as runner-up in the Linger Longer Invitational on the Reynolds Plantation's Great Waters Course in Greensboro, Ga. March 23-24. Reach posted a 6-under-par 138. He placed 19th in the SEC Championship on the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club in Sea Island, Ga. April 19-21 with a score of 7-over-par 217. Reach was named to the Second Team All-SEC.
Patrick Rooney of St. Davids Golf Club, a junior at Cabrini College, took runner-up honors in the Moravian College Tri-Match at Saucon Valley Country Club April 23. The Havertown, Pa. resident carded a 1-over-par 73.
T.J. Summers of Commonwealth National Golf Club, a freshman at Saint Joseph's University, led the Hawks in scoring at two events this spring. The Doylestown, Pa. resident filed a 158-total to place tied for 43rd individually in the Lafayette Invitational April 8-9 at Northampton Country Club. Summers finished 35th in the Princeton Invitational April 13-14 at Springdale Golf Club with a score of 226.
Bobby Svigals of Radnor Valley Country Club, a sophomore at Franklin & Marshall College, led the Diplomats in scoring at the Mid-Atlantic Invite April 7-8 at Hershey Country Club. The Villanova, Pa. resident posted a 155-total to place tied for 13th individually.
Oliver White of Manufacturers Golf & Country Club, a junior at Allegheny College, earned medalist honors in the Edward Jones Shootout April 13 at The Links at Spring Church in Spring Church, Pa. The Lower Gwynedd, Pa. resident posted rounds of 75 and 70 to prevail by a stroke. White finished as runner-up in the Fred Kravetz Invitational April 19-20 at Irondequoit Country Club and Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, N.Y with a 6-over-par 149 total.
