Location/Directions
From Philadelphia - Take Route 42 to the AC Expressway, get off at Exit 7 South, proceed to the Garden State Parkway, get off at Exit 13 (Avalon-Swainton). At the end of the exit ramp make a right turn and proceed to the traffic light and make another right. Travel north on Route 9 for ˝ mile, the club entrance is on the left hand side.
From Delaware - Go over Delaware Memorial Bridge. Take Route 40 East to Route 55 South, continue on Route 55 until the end. Take Route 47 to 347 South for 15-20 miles until reaching Route 83, turn left and follow Route 83 until reaching Route 9. Turn right and travel Route 9 south for 1 mile. The club entrance is on the right hand side.
From New York and New Jersey - Take the Garden State Parkway South to Exit 13 (Avalon-Swainton). At the end of the exit ramp make a right turn and proceed to the first traffic light (Route 9) and turn right. Travel on Route 9 North for ˝ of a mile, the club entrance is on the left hand side.

History
In the winter of1996, designer Dana Fry of Hurdzan/Fry discovered a layer of sand while trees were being cleared for fairways at Sand Barrens Golf Club. A more traditional course had been in the works on this site — lined with evergreens and oaks. But suddenly, Fry had a new idea. The result was Sand Barrens and its dramatic bunkers and undulating greens.
Sand Barrens features over 100 acres of sand in its bunkers and waste areas. It also boasts five sets of tee boxes for players. Today, in addition to golf, Sand Barrens also offers the Royal Oaks Club for dining and catered events.
